Black color painting tutorial

Hello, After many years of not doing anything, I've finally decided to share with the community my way of painting black color. I hope that You will find this article useful. For painting black elements I use only those 3 Vallejo Model Color paints, Matt Medium and Citadel Chaos Black. Chaos Black is being used for deepest shadows, because it's a little bit glossy. I use a little bit of medium for making washes. This is how these paints look like on my palette And this is the miniature: 1. First step is making big lines using black gray paint in places where the armor will be shining. It's important to make another shining spots in the shadows, but those will have to be darker. 2. In the next step I mix Blue Grey Pale with Black Gray until I have a color like this one on the next picture. It's a little bit like 60% Black Gray and 40% of Blue Grey Pale but I'm not sure because I'm just mixing until I get color like this one.

Lord Commander Solar Macharius

Hello everyone! As You can see, here's my new miniature: Solar Macharius. I must say that in the beginning, I was nor really happy about that what Im going to paint this time. That's old sculpt, and on internet are only ugly versions of him. But turns out that sculpture is not that bad after all, and painting whole miniature in white and gold colours is interesting, new experience. Only face was terrible, he was looking more like gorilla with crazy eye's then human. At this moment this is the worst face I ever paintind, and I had a lot of work to do, to make him looking more like normal person. I hope it work out and You like the final effect. Necron Royal Warden: almost done!

I'm almost done with my version of Necron Royal Warden and I just uploaded on My Patreon the 5th and the last tutorial about painting this miniature. As you can see I have only base and the back of the blaster left to paint. In case if you would like to see me painting another Necron then you are in luck because I have also Necron Overlord on my shelf. Stay tuned for the final photos with the finished base!
